The Relationship between the Social Support and Anxiety in Infertile Women

The aim of current research is surveying the relationship between social support and anxiety in infertile women. The research method is correlative (descriptive). The research population includes all infertile women visiting Hazrat-e Maryam Fertility Center in Sari and Doctor Dastourian Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Qaem Shahr from 20/04/2014 to 22/09/2014; and the number of these women is 58 individuals. Based on Krejcie and Morgan table (1970) the number of statistical sample required for this research was estimated to be 50 individuals. The sampling method used in this research is non-random and targeted and data are collected by the use of social support questionnaire (Zimet et al., 1988) and Pennsylvania’s anxiety questionnaire. Also, data are analyzed by the use of SPSS software at two levels of descriptive and inferential statistics. Results achieved from Pearson correlation tests showed that there is no significant relationship between social support and anxiety in infertile women.
